ABOUT
Temple-FMA is the local chapter of FMA International,
a professional association dedicated to the development of the art
of finance and preparation of members for careers in finance. The
Financial Management Association (“FMA”) provides members
with finance knowledge and business acumen not available in the classroom. The
group also conducts community service activities, finance workshops,
publishes a résumé book, and prepares members for employment
interviews. Guest speakers, including professionals and alumni
in careers such as stockbrokerage, financial planning, banking, and
management provide business insights and networking opportunities.
Business professionals assist future graduates with internships and
employment opportunities. Recent trips included visits to the
New York Stock Exchange, Federal Reserve of Philadelphia, Vanguard,
and a leadership conference. Based on outstanding accomplishments,
FMA International has designated the Temple group as a “Superior
Chapter” for each of the past four years, placing them in the
top 2% nationally. The faculty advisor has also been named
a “Superior Faculty Advisor” for two years in a row.
The mission of Temple University’s chapter of the Financial
Management Association (“FMA”) is to enhance the knowledge
and professional acumen of finance majors at the Fox School of Business
and Management and to foster and maintain a sense of community amongst
it members and the academic and business communities.
The goal of FMA is to prepare its members to pursue career opportunities
utilizing a broad range of finance skills. In addition, we seek to
prepare members to interact with industry leaders and to develop
contacts that will be useful during both their academic and professional
careers.
